These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lumen (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
2. The Service
Lumen turns academic materials you upload into an AI-generated study-abroad assessment report, including profile analysis, competitiveness, and a first-pass school list. Reports are for general informational purposes only. They are not admissions, legal, financial, or professional advice, and do not guarantee any admission outcome.
3. Your content
- You keep ownership of the materials you upload ("Your Content").
- You grant us a limited license to use Your Content solely to operate the Service and generate your report.
- You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to upload it and that it does not infringe the rights of others.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, or content that is not yours to share.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
- Misrepresent the AI-generated report as an official evaluation or a guarantee.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and the content we provide, is owned by Lumen or its licensors and is protected by law. Except for Your Content and the report generated for you, we grant you no rights in our intellectual property.
6. AI-generated output
Reports are produced by automated models based on the materials you provide. Output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, and should be independently verified before you rely on it. You are responsible for how you use the report.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumen will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, or admission outcomes, arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
10. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms. When we change these Terms, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction where Lumen operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
